2011 LogoMotion Robot
This year's robot is designed to perform in the game LogoMotion. The arm is used to lift and score tubes on the scoring racks. At the base of the robot there are six light sensors which are used to follow the lines on the field during the autonomous mode. There is a sliding minibot deployment system which is located a few inches above the base. The deployement mechanism is designed so that the minibot is deployed as fast as possible during the end game. The minibot which deploys during the end game is powered by a 12 volt battery and attaches on to the end game poles with relatively strong magnets. It is propelled upward by a small motor, which is attached to some gears. During the development process of the minibot, the gear ratio was changed many times to help increase the speed and power efficiency of the minibot. The robot utilizes mecanum drive, which provides a greater maneuverability on the field. The robot will compete in the Chesapeake Regional competition on March 17 to March 20, 2011, and the Philadelphia Regional competition on April 7 to April 9, 2011 at the Liacouras Center.
